Megan Davis, owner of The Kitchen Salon will present the “Embracing My Natural Roots Empowerment Sessions” at The Naturally Fly Natural Hair Expo on 3/23/13 as well as selling her natural hair and skin products and answering natural hair questions at the National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center in Wilberforce, Ohio. The second presentation will be at the Natural Hair Voyage & Bazaar at the TPN Family Community Center in Pontiac, Michigan on April 20, 2013.
The Kiddie Salon I Love My Hair Meetup is a one day, 2 hour meetup for the whole family. Anyone who has children or cares for children with natural hair are welcome to join us for a fun filled evening of learning and inspiration. This is a part of our monthly Mott Mane Mondays in partnership with the Friends of the Mott Branch Library at 1085 Dorr St. Toledo, OH 43607 from 6-8pm. The WOW(Women of the World) Symposium is a one day event held at the University of Toledo Scott Park Campus on March 30, 2013 from 9am-3pm. Guests are welcome to attend this free community event with health screenings, vendors (including The Kitchen Salon). Forums on financial planning, starting a business, ask the OB GYN, surviving incest, belly dancing and more will be available to women all through the day. The 2nd Northwest Ohio Natural Hair & Beauty Expo will be held at The New Life Center located at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio on October 12, 2013.
Enjoy a full day of Workshops, Performances, Vendors and a Childrens Arts & Crafts area.
The Expo will take place from 11am until 6pm.

The Kitchen Salon|Toledo is a part of National Natural Hair Meetup Day (www.nnhmd.com). Celebrating naturals with a series of events throughout the day:
- The Big Chop event presented by Transformations Salon & Spa with professional natural hair services by C.C.
- The Block Party from noon until 4pm on Miller St. adjacent to Transformations Salon and Powell’s beauty Supply. Music will be provided by DJ DreWills from WXUT’s The Session. 13 Local poets/spoken word artists hosted by Imani Lateef of New Glass City and C.C., both poetry pioneers in the Toledo area for at least 15 years. Vendors rounded out the Block Party!
- The Island Jam at Dexter’s Jamaican Restaurant and Lounge from 7:00-9:00pm where a DJ will be spinning Dancehall, Reggae and Soca music.

Previous Meetups were held at various locations throughout the City of Toledo, Ohio and New Orleans, Louisiana from 1997-2007. Small groups have gathered and shared their Big Chop Events, Challenges, Triumphs and Goals with one another. From living rooms to church halls to parks, we have been growing forward to Educate, Encourage and Empower anyone who is interested in Natural Hair.
