The Kitchen Salon Course Offerings. Each Workshop is scheduled for 2 hours, unless it is being requested for a special event. Materials are provided for these courses unless otherwise indicated. Back to The Roots: Our HAIRitage
  • This presentation offers an introduction to the historical and cultural foundation and aesthetic of Black Hair and its impact on society and the beauty industry then and now.
Transitioning to Natural Hair
  • This workshop teaches how to transition to natural hair and includes creating a plan to transition, developing a regimen, tools of the trade and key techniques such as detangling and maximizing moisture.
Locology

In this workshop, you will learn about what locs are and their origin, how they are created, maintained and styled.

Natural Haircare for Children
  • Whether you’re a new mom or have recently become the guardian or foster parent of a child. This workshop teaches the basic fundamentals of natural haircare for children to include (history, tools, regimen, styles, maintenance).
The Aging Naturalista
  • Women who are aging experience several changes in their body, skin and hair. This course will focus on managing natural hair after menopause
Hair Loss
  • Hair loss affects everyone. This presentation will help give an understanding of hair loss and how to  find solutions that work
Vision on Purpose

Each person has a purpose, a mission to be carried out according to a vision. The vision may be inspired by experiences, challenges or a need. The Vision on Purpose workshop helps to discover your personal gifts, write your vision and define its purpose. Materials will be supplied.

Style Clinic

The style clinic will provide you with basic styling options for natural hair, children or locs. Materials will be provided.

Mixology

Learn how to make your products work for you! Sometimes a recipe needs an adjustment to work better by cocktailing. Also learn how to use everyday ingredients for your hair or skin,.
