How are you all doing on your reading? While I am recovering from surgery, I hope you all are enjoying curling up to a great book this Winter! I am also reading a new Alexander McCall Smith Book: The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party! I love the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency Novels! My husband got it for me while I rest 🙂 So, we are into the 3rd and 4th chapters of The Knotty Truth, and this week we are addressing the transition. For those of you who are already natural but remember your transition I hope this serves as a time to reflect and appreciate the process once again and to those who are just starting your journey, I hope that this book gives you the confidence to continue on. We had to change the comments system, so I hope you all continue to comment either here or on our Facebook page!
The Discussion Continues…
Feel free to explain why you agree or disagree with this statement.
Chapter 3 addresses the importance of transitioning in your mind long before making the actual transition to natural hair. How does this relate to your own transitioning story?
On page 21, the author writes “…many of us will never have a conscious memory of self acceptance and pride.” Are you one of these people? How does this statement make you feel?
In chapter 3, the author also encourages the readers to photo journal their transition and the different stages of growing their natural. Is this something that you have, are or will participate in?
